This Sunday, I had the draft for the only fantasy football league I'm in this year. Cutting myself down to one team is a tough pill to swallow, but between my duties here at the station, the writing I'm doing now, not to mention trying to spend time with those two people who live with me... it had to be done.
That being said, this draft on Sunday might have been one of the greatest drafts of all time. Not because of anything I did... picking 10th, there's not a whole lot you can do. I just felt happy to draft Calvin Johnson.
Here's what made it amazing: we do have a token female in this league. She's the wife of another one of the players, but she holds her own.
This time around, we had a video chat for everybody in the draft. About 7 of the 12 people in the draft were also in the video chat, including Suzie. From the hospital.
See, Suzie had just given birth to a child the day before. Yet, there she was, on webcam, with the baby on her shoulder and her draft book on the bed.
What this means is that you no longer have an excuse to miss your draft.
