Congresswoman Kaptur to Receive Key to the City

(Toledo, OH) The “Dean of the Ohio Delegation” will get a key to the city today.

Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur will be presented the special designation by Toledo Mayor Wade Kapsukiewicz during today’s city council meeting.

The ninth district Congressional representative recently became the senior-most woman in the House of Representatives—and in her 17th term in Congress, is the longest-serving woman from Ohio in history.

The Toledo Democrat was first recruited to run for Congress while pursuing a doctorate in urban planning and development finance at MIT, winning her present seat with an economic platform during the 1982 recession. The key-to-the-city presentation begins at 4 p.m.
