Bike Path Connector Proposed Near Secor Metropark

(Richfield Twp., OH)

Metroparks Toledo may become part of a partnership to connect regional bike paths.

Metroparks Toledo, Lucas County Commissioners, and Richfield Township Trustees are teaming up to add paved shoulders along Kilburn Road from Secor Metropark on Central Avenue to Sylvania‐Metamora Road.

The aim is to build a three-mile long connection between two existing bike paths-- a proposed north-south bike corridor between Secor Metropark and Oak Openings Preserve, as well as an east-west bike corridor that runs from Sylvan Prairie to the University of Toledo.

Transportation planners hope to eventually create a 50-mile connecting corridor of bike paths across Lucas County. This $4 million dollar project would require a $75,000 contribution from Metroparks Toledo.
