Washington Local to consider new Hickey Investigation

The Washington Local Board of Education has scheduled a special meeting on Thursday to discuss a new investigation into former superintendent and current board member Patrick Hickey.

Michigan State Police have announced that they are re-opening a sexual assault investigation that dates back to when Hickey was an employee at Addison Community Schools. Hickey is accused of sexually assaulting a girl in 1990, who was a student at Addison, where Hickey was a teacher and a coach. The original investigation stalled out because the victim would not cooperate with the investigation.

the WLS Board announced that the meeting, scheduled for Thursday at at Conn-Weissenberger Post 587 located at 2020 West Alexis Street, will be to discuss the charges against Hickey. They may also discuss discipline against Hickey, or even ask for his resignation.

Hickey has been banned from Washington Local property after an incident in 2016 when he attended a basketball game and became belligerent with referees and the school athletic director. That ban has forced the Board of Education to meet in various locations since Hickey was elected to the board last year.
