NW Ohio Traffic Blitz Results in 1,000+ Tickets

(Toledo, OH) A holiday-related traffic enforcement effort led to more than 1,000 tickets in Northwest Ohio.

Northwest Ohio law enforcement in a dozen counties staged a 60-hour traffic blitz leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday travel weekend. 

Police officers and state troopers pulled over more than 2,200 drivers and gave nearly half of them a ticket for some sort of violation, including  over 100 seat belt citations. 

Lights for Lives also resulted in the arrest of 34 impaired drivers. More than 30 police agencies and the state highway patrol participated in the effort.
