State Representative Wes Goodman Resigns

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Another Ohio lawmaker has resigned amid allegations of inappropriate behavior, the second in the last month.

In a statement, state Rep. Wes Goodman (R-Cardington) says he brought personal "struggles" and "trials" into his public life, actions and choices that he says prevents him from carrying out his duties in a way that "reflects the best ideal of public service."

House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger says he learned of Goodman's inappropriate behavior Tuesday and confronted him immediately. Exactly what that inappropriate behavior was isn't known.

Another Republican, State Senator Cliff Hite, resigned last month after a sexual harassment complaint was filed against him. Earlier this week, Senate Democrats' Chief of Staff Michael Premo stepped aside over allegations of inappropriate conduct.
