Toledo Woman Convicted for BWC Benefits Scam

(Toledo, OH) A Toledo woman is convicted for stealing her late boyfriend's workers comp benefits. 

Investigators found 58-year old Suzette Hedrick had cashed her dead boyfriend's workers comp benefits for more than a year-- and now she must pay back more than $18,000 or serve ten months in prison. 

Hedrick pleaded guilty to grand theft and must serve five years probation. An internal claims agent foiund Hedrick's boyfriend had passed away after being on permanent total disability about two years ago, but someone was still withdrawing his monthly benefits.

After stopping BWC payments, Hedrick admitted she used his card to pay her bills.
