Lawmakers Propose License Reinstatement Changes

(Columbus, OH)  --  Two  Ohio lawmakers want to make it easier for drivers to reinstate their suspended licenses.

Representatives David Greenspan and John Barnes say House Bill 336 would create a six-month amnesty program for people with suspended licenses.  Those who need to pay reinstatement fees can pay the lowest of several on their record or half of their lone suspension.

The lawmakers say people can't afford reinstatement fees, so they drive without licenses or insurance, putting law-abiding drivers at risk.
