Toledo City Council To Amend "Lead Safe" Law

Toledo City Council will soon begin debate on changes to the city's "lead safe" law.

A list of amendments to the rental unit inspection measure was released last week. They include a longer window for inspections and a program to give landlords who fail lead inspections more time to make repairs.

City council is holding a committee-of-the-whole hearing on those proposed changes at 3 p.m. at One Government Center.

The lead safe law was just passed in August. Less than 40 rental properties have been inspected under the law.
